Maggie & Tyler

Another sweet Minnesota couple on their way to becoming completely official in all the ways…. marriage :)

We had their engagement session at Millennium Gardens in Plymouth, Minnesota. They completely got the outfits spot on, because (tip) whites/creams/blacks/neutrals are the best. Me and my editing style are both biased.

More importantly than their outfits, we laughed and had a ton of fun. My favorite thing is when couples open up and feel like they’re on a fun date with each other. If you can be comfortable and get in your ‘play’ mode with your person, the photos will absolutely reflect the amazing time you’re having. I try to encourage this by giving fun prompts to my couples and bringing a positive/open mindset to the table!

Anyhow… now we get to look forward to their amazing wedding day hosted at the Hewing Hotel in Minneapolis, MN. AHHH. I’m so excited.

Jay & Quynh - Proposal Photoshoot

This. Proposal. Jay contacted me about a month ago and told me he planned to propose to his girlfriend, Quynh, who lives here in Minnesota. Jay lives in Georgia, so their relationship has been long distance for the past two years. This man flew to MN last night only a couple of hours before proposing to Quynh.

Thankfully, we had a plan locked in where he was successfully able to sneak up behind her and tap her on the shoulder to get her attention. Below are the results. One of the sweetest proposals I have done. The couple had most of their family there to see, and got to celebrate their engagement, and the sister’s birthday at Freehouse in Minneapolis!

Caleb & Anna - Couples Photoshoot

SPICY. This stunning couple is from my giveaway I hosted in January, giving away two in-home couple sessions. We photographed at an elegant cabin/resort in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin— just an hour from Minneapolis, Minnesota. This couples session could not have been more of a dream. Caleb and Anna were so comfortable in front of the camera and it showed. I LOVE knowing that my photography clients feel like i’ve created a comfortable atmosphere for them to be fully themselves.

Tip: Make sure your couples bring an extra outfit and provide plastic bags if you’re going to shoot any water shots! Aka— steamy shower pics ;) It can feel awkward to suggest getting those steamier shots, but make sure the vibe is right with you and the couple and let them know they are in a judgement free zone. :) Lastly, find a cabin with some good natural light— because it’s simply amazing.
